The Project

For Alessandra and Luke I imagined a late-summer day with crisp colours: hydrangea green, the cream white of the roses and a touch of rust orange for character. A palette both fresh and warm, designed to converse with the marble and frescoes of the church and the greenery of the park at Villa San Michele.

The protagonists were the green hydrangeas and white roses, accompanied by orange anthurium, peach carnations and eucalyptus. Two urns welcomed the couple on the churchyard, while along the nave small arrangements on the floor and candles followed the pattern of the chequered pavement. The same bouquet, a compact, sculptural bunch tied by hand, returned in every shot of the day.

At the reception, under the villa's portico, round tables dressed in white echoed the colours of the ceremony in light arrangements and single-stem vases. The moment I remember most is the stroll down the avenue at sunset, with the bride raising her bouquet amid the guests' applause.
